This question would be more appropriate on the ubuntu-users[0] mailing
lit.  When posting to that list I imagine it would be helpful if you
were to include information as to what tool you used to configure the
second network adapter and possibly your '/etc/network/interfaces' file.
Alternatively, you could try asking a question in the Ubuntu support
tracker[1].
