Corri o comando {sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart} e deu-me este 
resultado estranho.

Não me sabem explicar porque é que isto acontece? A minha placa de rede 
é um nvidia nforce2 onboard. O kernel que tenho é o mais generic recente 
dos repositórios. Se precisarem de mais informação, digam.
