Canonical has released the results from the Ubuntu Server Survey have
been released. Respondents come from across the globe and show it
being used for a broad range of workloads. Results show popularity of
the extended support releases, for the first time seeing KVM overtake
Xen as the preferred virtualization technology for Ubuntu (with VMWare
remaining at the top) and while there is "significant interest but the
use of Ubuntu Server on bare metal remains the primary use case for

Release manager Kate Stewart announces 10.04.4, the fourth maintenance
update to Ubuntu's 10.04 LTS release. This is the last planned
maintenance release of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, "which continues to be
supported with maintenance updates and security fixes until April 2013
on desktops and April 2015 on servers."
