Regards to c#12 and c#32 for clearing.  Much simpler is "Ctrl+K" then
"Del"  will select place cursor at search bar, clear the search bar, and
be ready to use.  Placing an "X" at the right just wastes space and
creates more clutter, as did the "Go" button if it still exists.
