hay folks.
  nice to see ubuntu users working for urdu. Noumaan bhai added my addres in this mailing list. i am Shakir from www.urduweg.org/mehfil
  there we are also working a little about translating english. very KHulla Dulla mahool there ( open air enviroment u can say) because every thing is in urdu. here english oooh. working for urdu talking in english. ohhh. can it not be converted in urdu mailing list??? :( :(
  can'nt it be integrated with urduweb some how. i mean at least these instructions and stupind english interface i do not like this all. so plz plz do something about it.

dont worry about pc folder just paste the ur file into

launch nautilus with gksudo nautilus from terminal and go to symbols folder and then delete pk file then rename your ur layout to pk layout. 

Add the keyboard layout convertor applet to your panel right click it and in preferences go to layout and press the add button now add Pakistan and ok. 

while playing with your configuration files you should always make a backup such as xorg.list.backup

Linux *is* user friendly. It's just selective about who its friends are.
