It was my understanding that the function of -offtopic was to provide a
"ubuntu spirited" channel, where those who were talking about things
that were ubuntu related but not specific to the channel were in they
could mostly move to -offtopic.

My question, therefore is, if they have no place to go where are they to
go? In other words we need -offtopic.

As for standards, they move.

If you want them say what you want, we do have the o4o !.
