Hi,

The long time waited rewritten specification for Ubuntu Hardened is now
publicly available, in both LaTeX source and PDF formats at:

http://pearls.tuxedo-es.org/ubuntu/ubuntu-hardened-spec-20050503.pdf
http://cvs.tuxedo-es.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/ubuntu-hardened-spec/

I'm cross-posting because this is something that affects all of us and
we need to know about it correctly.

A discussion on it should happen soon, suggestions for dates and agenda
are welcome, though they should keep close to the topic.

Also, we'll need to organize the hierarchy of the development team and
decide who will take the lead, manager and plain developer roles.

Some clarification:

 - lead: represents the project, can take decisions over any
implementation and must take care of the politics needed
to keep the relationships between each developer cool, and
any other requirement of the team.

 - manager: keeps an eye on schedules, tasks and resources. manages
what the lead can't do when he/she's busy or just unable at the
         time when the issue happens.

 - developer: can organize himself/herself but not take decisions over
the rest of people and must apply to the desires of the
manager and the lead when it's possible due to his/her
          personal situation and/or requirements.

I hope it's clear enough, and it's the best for all of us to decided who
will represent us and take the important decisions, I don't care if it's
me, Andrew or anyone else able to apply for it, but it really needs to
be clarified and well noticed, and it must be someone capable of what we
need and want to do, with the need skills in both technical and
communication ("politics") terms.

A schedule/planning is being available/hosted at:
http://pearls.tuxedo-es.org/ubuntu/ubuntu-hardened.html
(open to discussion)

For those who couldn't attend to the RFC (I apologize for not being able
to announce it with some time due to some issues):
http://pearls.tuxedo-es.org/ubuntu/rfc-1.txt

Thanks in advance, enjoy.

Cheers,
