I am suprised that our beloved GNOME ubuntu releasing Alpha version of 13.10 while d issues with 13.04 were yet unsolved. I really love GNOME but when I was about downloading Ubuntu GNOME 13.04, a friend of mine told me about the numerous bugs in it and hence that had me still waiting to nowhere. I do think it is better Gnome to delay the realease of 13.10 and keep standardizing 13.04. For instance, such idea is seen to working with linux Ultimate Edition. Such delay is what makes it exceptionally bug-free and standardized. I need to test the full option GNOME.

Probably not related to the topic, but does that mean that we can
purge/uninstall Ubuntu Online Accounts in our Raring systems? Or the
dependencies, etc. have been recently solved not to be necessary in Saucy?

Regards, Alfredo.

After the annoucement from Ubuntu saying MIR will be default on 13.10, I
think the most important question is what is gonna happen to Ubuntu GNOME
flavour ? I guess Ubuntu GNOME developers are working hard on that but as a
user I really would like to have their opinion on Ubuntu GNOME future.

Thank you in advance !

I can't speak for the developers plans themselves but:

1. Ubuntu ships with unity by default yet GNOME is still installable. Plus
this distro exists.

2. Even though Unity next will be based on KDE libs and work on Mir
continues, Kubuntu had already said they will not be including Mir support.

3. The GNOME foundation has already indicated they will be supporting
Wayland.

Ubuntu is about choice. While Ubuntu will be supporting Mir in the default
installation, it will not be removing X from the repositories, and will not
prevent Wayland when it's ready and stable.
