[ec2-beta] Mapserver segfault on ami-814aaee8

Richard:

Is it possible to reduce the problem to a set of instructions that
others can use to reproduce it?

As far as Hardy goes, there are no official AMIs yet, but I and others
would love to see them. I've submitted LP#311330 requesting this but I
imagine the more voices in support, the higher it would be prioritized.

Until then, I build unofficial Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy AMIs for EC2 listed on
http://alestic.com

These are supported by the community and my company and many others have
been using them in production environments. The main difference is that
they currently run on an older 2.6.21 kernel built by Amazon which means
things like AppArmor aren't supported, but there have been very few
other problems reported.

It is possible to run a Hardy AMI using the official Ubuntu 2.6.27
kernel, but I haven't heard of extensive tests with this yet.
