As member of the Italian documentation team, I'm glad that h.u.c
become multilingual.
This prevents us to perform the periodic build and I'm sure that the
international team can work better by providing more frequent updates
when new translations are available and when bugs are fixed.
For this points I’m personally in favor of the discontinued of our
help.ubuntu-it.org in favour of a redirect to help.ubuntu.com.
However SUMO worries me. Our Italian wiki, based on Moin, presents
various contents that differ from the English version.
Offer the ability to translate contents of guides of the community
could represent a problem for us.
Italian-speaking users may want to translate SUMO preventing us to
provide updated guides and original content on the existing platform.
Finally, I think LoCo should be informed about some aspects.
Regarding the official documentation:
- - What will be multi-language and with what timing?
- - Is there any schedule about the updating of h.u.c. in multilingual
version? So, how often new .po files and updates are imported?
About community documentation:
- - Analyze the impact that the introduction of SUMO will have on
original content currently offered by the LoCo teams.
- - Explain in a more organic way the impact of this change and what are
the presumed time of the switch-off.
Thanks
