Thanks for this. At the moment Edubuntu really has the Handbook. In the
future as the Handbook takes a more topic based approach this should be
a bit easier to manage (at least topic wise).

With regards to:

a) We could benefit from a system that "catches" such information and
statistics. Much like a help-desk can maintain statistics on common
support calls and problems which then aids in prioritising development
and documentation, the Ubuntu process could benefit as well.

Admittedly, we have many channels for feedback and support: mailing
lists, forums, Launchpad, wiki, IRC. It is therefore very difficult to
capture feedback in a coherent and accountable fashion that doesn't
involve too much overhead and repetition.

However a system or process that centralises the statistics on such
questions would be of immense value. This is not to assume that the
documentation team/process becomes the central point of Ubuntu community
support but it should definately compliment it as that is the ultimate
goal of good documentation.

b) Similarly, the effectiveness of existing resources could also benefit
from some form of rating process, an agile process based on actual
"market feedback" as opposed to author assumptions made up front.
