proposed spin-off of wiki team

Hey guys,

I am interested that this discussion has come up. I believe that
there is no need to break-away/spin-off from the docteam, most of us
are members of both teams and I think the fact that the two teams
share the same mailing-list is a really good idea, we have open
communication between each other.

As I have said before, I do agree with the comments made above about
there needing to be more focus on the wiki team and that many
suggested projects do not get off the ground. Both Corey Burger and
myself have started two major projects for the Wiki and it seems like
there is not much participation from other members of the doc/wiki
teams. We have both also been in frequent consulation with the doc
team mailing-list as well.

The idea of having a separate meeting has been one that I have wanted
to propose for some time, however, gauging response from the
mailing-list posts about projects that are being worked on, I could
see only up to 3 people attending, if it fit in their schedules..

I am happy to chair a meeting for the WikiTeam and kick off some
better organisation of the team. At present, I wouldn't call it a
team, it seems like a few people doing their own things.. We have
common elements and ideals for the Wiki, lets get together to discuss
them.

Tomorrow - 25 March 2006, 2100UTC in #ubuntu-doc is a time I am
proposing to quickly sort out any issues and get together some better
organisation. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WikiTeam/MeetingAgenda for
more info.

* adding me to the WikiTeam on Launchpad would be a nice gesture as well..

Naaman.
