Only managed to touch four things today:

    - Tidied up release nominations; as this bug has a simple workaround
and could cause confusion/problems for some users marked as 'Won't fix'
and un-subscribed ubuntu-sponsors.

    - Issues applying provided debdiff as new upstream tarball had
Windows formatted files; asked bug/patch reporter to look into this. 
Also queried what the current state of this package was in Debian (bug
reporter appears to have stepped forward as maintainer) as pushing a new
upstream release through that route would be preferable.  Marking
in-complete and un-subscribed ubuntu-sponsors until queries/issues with
patch/encoding resolved.
