Hello,

Since I upgraded to 8.04 I can't use the gnome mixer
gnome-volume-control because it crash core dump at startup.

#174833 gnome-volume-control crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174833>

As suggested in:
<http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441641#c5>

This workaround Alsa Bug patch to track.c work well here.

I uploaded the patch src and binary for IA32.

Could the maintainer have a look and validate this patch?

The patched version save me, because it no longer crash and I can now
use gnome-volume-control again.

Regards,
