DVD iso file install source?

I'm looking through the HTML installation manual on the 27 Sept. DVD iso,
and can't find how to tell the installer to use the iso file to install
from. Is it there and I'm just missing it?
I have:
hda3 - grub and both normal and netboot installation linux and initrd.gz
hda10 - partition holding only the ubuntu-6.10-beta-dvd-i386.iso
hda11 - target installation partition ext3 formatted
I have no problem booting either kernel, but can't find in the (text)
installer any way to designate the iso file as the installation source. I
don't see it on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation either. Is
this a non-existent installation type? Or, am I just not finding the correct
howto?
TIA
