Power down after shutdown does not work...

I have had this problem since I installed Breezy Badger on my Thinkpad T21.
Never had to worry about it on my desktop. 1/3 of the time it shuts down
normally, but the other 2/3 I have to hold down the power button for the
requisite 5 seconds to force shutdown. Not life threatening, but certainly
an inconvenience.
