Gnome Screensaver issues? xscreensaver-commmand compatibility

i thought about it, yes, but i came to the conclusion that its not a
good alternative, since a "Conflicts: xscreensaver" will make it
impossible to have xubuntu-desktop and ubuntu-desktop installed at the
same time ... thats bad in multiuser environments where people want to
use both desktops...
