Which version do they have installed;  looking at:

there was a version uploaded, there hasn't been a version uploaded since
2006-03-07.  Perhaps there is something else asking for this dialogue;  What
*exactly* does the dialogue asking for the password say that it is for.

This sounds like some program (one not patched for 'sudo') is requesting
administrative rights;  or is the dialogue perhaps related to a 
file-sharing system such as Samba.

Please can you describe the program in a little-more detail.

No.  Bugs should of course be filed in the bug tracker:

which is the best way to ensure that they are speedily dealt with.
