update-manager for AMD64

Hello,

I'm starting to consider upgrading to Dapper.  I was going to try the new 
version of update-manager but I could not find it for AMD64.  Is it 
available? Is dist-upgrading recommended for that platform? Also, if 
update-manager isn't available to proceed the dist-upgrade, can I still do 
dist-upgrade using the manual method (modifying apt sources to point them to 
dapper).
