I forgot to mention that after configuring USplash, X does not start 
properly. Instead, the LCD does some sort of neat glowing slightly changing 
color configuration that looks like some screensaver I used to use. It's 
completely unresponsive, ctrl-alt-backspace doesn't do anything, nor does 
ctrl-alt-F[1-7], or ctrl-alt-del.

I will put this on my laptop testing page later on today.
