finally I succeed to install GRASS 6.0 by downloading the packages from
debian and using dpkg. It works very well and thats good !



Actually, I work a little with "libre" GIS, in fact only GRASS for the
moment. I'm in France and work  for an association dealing with
mountain pasture. Until now, I use to work with GRASS on Mac OS (it
work quite well) and I use Ubuntu for my private utilisation.



GRASS works so bad on windows with Cygwin, Ubuntu would be a good
solution for "newbies".   Developping a GIS metasatation would be
really interesting for some people I know who are not linux users for
the moment...

PS : sorry for the wrong place of my question, but I don't think GIS
users on this forum are so numerous, so I thaught I'd more chance to
