DirectFb:Framebuffer

Hi All,
 
Does anyone have idea about the Framebuffer support in Ubuntu linux ? I
want to run DirectFB on Ubuntu and Framebuffer support is the
prerequisite of DirectFb .
Is Frame buffer support enabled by default or I have to enable it with
kernel rebuild or all.
 
Please help.
