Sometime ago Acer started a laptop war in India, they started selling
their Aspire 1362 for as low as $650 and gave a discount to students on
top of that. Obviously they sold a lot of them :)

The laptop comes with a minimum installation of what they call "linux",
a kernel and some console commands, its useless. most kids install
pirated copies of windows on it.

I believe it is one of the most popular laptop in the student community,
 I also have one of these, There defiantly are issues with hoary and
this laptop, I commented on a bug for the same (9748).

If we could make breezy run flawlessly with this laptop it would make
marketing ubuntu a lot simpler. We could even ask acer politely to
bundle ubuntu with it, it might work.
