Version Bug with Ruby

I posted that mail. Unfortunately I have not recieved any reply as to
how debzilla functions or the time-scale one can expect for such a bug fix.
To summarise the problem so far:
The version of Ruby in Hoary is a beta release of the current Ruby
stable. Certain Ruby packages require the non-beta up-to-date stable
version of Ruby as there were (apparently) some important bug fixes made
between the beta snapshot that is on Ubuntu and the current stable
version. The debian package from which the Hoary package is derived is
fixed to the latest final current release. Packages such as Rails (the
ubiquitous web application development tool that seems to be making
waves in the web-dev community) require the latest version of Ruby and
have started to enforce this requirement (just over a week ago).
The bug was duly reported and has been assigned to debzilla at ubuntu.org.
Hence the reason for my question.
So, the problem still remains, and apart from a few brave individuals
who are trying (unsuccessfully) to get around the issue, not a lot seems
to be happening.
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter and for making Ubuntu a
great operating system,
Regards,
Nicholas
