I intend to have it find and use a swap partition if one exists, yes.

That's odd; the only issue with sound would be the same udev problem as with
the mouse (and it should have the same solution). Note that because of
this, sound devices are unlikely to be automatically unmuted as they should.
Please let me know if you investigate further.
