A different window decoration would indeed be okay; but currently, the 
whole window decoration isn't usable (it's disabled from input).

I think a change of brightness would be annoying - but just grayscaling 
is quite subtle (and hardly noticable if there's a big window in the 
background, as white stays white). Just the feedback that's needed: 
"hey, only one window can be used right now".

I won't keep on nagging, but I must at least ask people here to try it 
with a screenshot and a grayscaled version of it :)
