I think it's an inconvenient time for all parties---those wanting changes and
those who might be working to locate documentation or user-interface
inconsistencies (and translations, if strings are affected).

Calling a Technical Board meeting would perhaps be one way of getting
everyone together and being able to gauge what may need doing to further the
goals of having a consistent and polished release later this week.
