Problem with Xfe in Xubuntu 4-13.04

I have encountered a problejm with running xfe in Xubuntu v-13.04. When 
I attempt to look at the properties of a file I get the following:

computation at inga:~$ xfe
computation at inga:~$ FXComposeContext: illegal window parameter

I have no problem in v-12.04 and don't have the faintest idea as to the 
solution in v-13.04

Please advise.
