Gnome3 staging PPA incompatible with Unity (and no way to report the bug)

I wanted to try out Gnome 3.12 in Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, so I added the GNOME3
Staging PPA[1] and carefully upgraded what packages could be upgraded. I
encountered a problem with the packages:

    - gnome-control-center (now: 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu56.1, new:
1:3.12.1-0ubuntu1~trusty3)
    - gnome-control-center-data (same)
    - gnome-settings-daemon (now: 3.8.6.1-0ubuntu11.2, new:
3.12.2-0ubuntu1~trusty2)
    - gnome-settings-daemon-schemas (same)

If I try to upgrade, say, gnome-settings-daemon-schemas in Synaptic, it
will propose removing the Unity desktop environment, which I don't want to
do. But if I leave them at their current versions, desktop keybindings and
some other application settings are ignored.

There doesn't seem to be a bug filed about this on LP[2]. Is this a known
incompatibility?

I realise that the PPA description explicitly says that the packages are
not ready for general use, but it also says that users should use
"ubuntu-bug" to report bugs against the packages. Unfortunately, that
doesn't seem to be possible: invoking "ubuntu-bug gnome-settings-daemon"
results in a message that says:

    The problem cannot be reported:

This is not an official Ubuntu package. Please remove any third party
package and try again.

It also doesn't seem to be possible to report bugs directly on the LP page,
hence this email.

Cheers,
Jason
