Call for turkish translators

Hello Panos,

I will make an effort to be fairly reasonable with what I'm going to say as
I will be speaking as a community member and not as some modern thinking
human being. I hope you don't mind I'm responding in English; my English is
usually better than my Greek (and my Turkish for that matter).

I assumed by your name and your email addy that you're form Greece. I'm not
sure if you've noticed but in Cyprus, there are Turkish speaking Cypriots
too!!! Should we go around pretending they don't exist for the sake of
keeping a community in Cyprus strictly English/Greek speaking? That's called
ignorance, not to mention just incredibly rude.

I have been talking about Turkish translations for a long time and I insist
they happen. I am talking to some friends in Cyprus that can translate into
Turkish for us to make the relevant arrangements.

From a community perspective, it's to benefit the community, not
Greek/English speakers. This is a list about the Cypriot Ubuntu LoCo, not
the Greek one; do what you want with your lists in Greece, this is Cyprus.
In Cyprus, we speak Greek, Turkish and English.

Lastly, there's no "polite" way to say this, but if you don't like the fact
that you ALREADY have and will have Turkish Cypriots in this list, I suggest
you go and find another list to share your backwards social inhibitions on
ethnic groups. If you don't like the fact that a Turkish Cypriot has equal
rights to myself, you and anyone else in this community, then I'm sure you
will be equally disappointed to know that within the island of Cyprus
itself, in society, you have zero rights as a Greek/EU citizen compared to a
Greek/Turkish Cypriot =)

Let's all just get along nicely. Hug?

Warm Regards,
Mario A. Spinthiras
