Just to back up my assertion that AU is *not* a support site I will link
you to some reading:
http://meta.askubuntu.com/questions/2436/how-can-we-refocus-on-being-a-qa-not-a-support-forum-or-bug-tracker
See also Jorge's answer to my question
here<http://meta.askubuntu.com/a/6432/15939>.
This thread on meta I think is a must read to anyone thinking
of referring someone to AU for "support."
I'm not saying that AU sucks or anything, in fact that's where I spend a
lot of my time in the evenings. It's just not suitable for referring users
for help, *especially* when they are not super computer literate or
unable to describe the problem using proper terminology. Look at
this<http://askubuntu.com/q/102396/15939>if you don't believe me.
This <http://askubuntu.com/q/138329/15939>
is<http://askubuntu.com/questions/112125/how-to-install-non-compiled-programs>
what<http://askubuntu.com/questions/146291/help-me-with-my-wine-it-doesnt-work-properly>
happens <http://askubuntu.com/questions/169270/i-cant-reinstall-packages>
when<http://askubuntu.com/questions/246371/why-does-ubuntu-not-support-useful-everyday-things-out-of-the-box-and-why-does-i>computer
illiterate users find their way to AU.
