Hi Ray,

I think you should see if there is a "Linux Users Group" near you and get on their e-mail list.
They are everywhere and usually meet once a month.

To answer your question where to get 8.04.
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

Please read the entire page and check for any links that will aid you during the install.
You will need to choose between 32 bit & 64 bit.
You will need to verify the download "MD5 Sum"
And during the install check the integrity of your CD.
You can also request a free CD that will be mailed to you if your internet speed is slow.

This is starting to sound like a bad install CD.
No ones fault just a bad CD??
I had problems with 8.10 very similar to Ray.
I installed 8.04 no problems since.
Just a thought.

Hi Stephane,  That worked OK ! I now have the choice of browsers in Applications,Internet. Epiphany comes up and seems to work OK but I still cant get the youtube and other web videos to work. Sooooo.. Thanks Stephane.    Ray
