Just an FYI....I have had an Audigy2ZS for the past few years.

Been reading various forums/lists/sites to see if I could get consistent
sound out of it. Sometimes shows up under Pulse, sometimes ALSA, sometimes
the basic one never the same twice in a row and it always changed if i
actually used a program that used it and closed the program.

So far, no successful fixes(Creative apparently doesn't release much info on
their Audigy hardware, so I'm not blaming anyone in the community). I
eventually gave up and just pulled the Audigy out....It's sitting on the top
of my tower now, until I come across a magical fix....Onboard sound works
just fine, so I've been quite happy since I pulled the card out.

Your experience may be different, but you more than likely do have something
onboard, just in case that's all it is.

Alternatively, if your card was a recent purchase, you might try the ALSA
site...they have a compatibility listing. Some of the Creative products
seem to work just fine.
