Hi: Cody
I'll re-phrase this for you.

First you need to get an Ebay Buyers Account.

You go to your Bank, and you set up a separate Bank Account, and
1) Write down the name that you give it.
2) Put in some funds.
3) Log onto PayPal, create your account, with them. Be sure to use the
exact name you gave to your new bank account.
4) The process will now take about 20 minutes, to complete. In your ID
and Password book write down your PayPal ID and Password, and the PayPal
Log in URL, and other pertinent details
5) Now Log onto Ebay, and create a Buyers Account. The process will take
about 20 minutes to complete. Again write into your ID and Password Book
your Ebay ID and Password, plus other details.
6) Go to the Firefox ADD-ON Web Site, then download and install, some of
the Ebay Tools, such as, Ebay Companion, Ebay Timezone, and perhaps a
Toolbar for it. These help keep track of Active Items, Items won, Items
lost, Items ended, and other things you may easily forget. They use
visual clues so you can see the Items you bought or sold.
7) Go to your Ebay Page, and click on Help, in the Buy, Sell, My Ebay,
Community, Help Toolbar. Click on Help, read the info on starting a
Sellers Account.
8) Create a Sellers Account, for Ebay.
9)Go to your Ebay Page, and click on Sell, in the Buy, Sell, My Ebay,
Community, Help Toolbar. Read the info on Getting Started.
10) The first Item on the Page that follows is, Registering your Credit
Card. Click on the link to that Page. You will be asked for your Ebay ID
and Password. Then on an https:// Page you insert your Credit Card
details. Read the information they give carefully.
11) Then there is an Authorize Button, when you are Satisfied all the
information is there, click on the Authorize Button.

****[ This is the point at which the Bad Certificate shows up, it says
that the certificate is not from Ebay, and some 3rd party might be
trying to access your Account details.]****

You can Click OK or Cancel,

Clicking on OK, could mean that someone other than Ebay, will get your
Credit Card Details plus all the other information needed to make use of
it!

Clicking on Cancel -Stops the process of Registering your Credit Card so
that you can't become a seller.

These are the steps required to duplicate the Page that causes the
Problem to appear.

OK.

Doing things this way takes the minimum of time. Using a different name,
for your PayPal Account, than your Special Bank Account Name and the
credit card name, makes the process take months, and not minutes!

There are many Options for selling like being an occasional seller, or
setting up a Store.

I didn't have much time the last time I answered your Question, and
after I sent it it seemed to me to be a bit unfriendly, so I made this
little effort for you, to correct that!

Alfred!

        Hi:

I've been having a problem with Security Certificates, on Ebay.
        Ebay
says that I'm using an outdated Browser or that the Root
        Certificate of
my browser has expired. That this is what is causing security
certificates to show up that are not from Ebay.
Firefox 3 had a few problems with Ebay Tools like Ebay
        Companion, not
working, reporting that Firefox 3 was the 64 bit version. Some
        people
on the Bug list fixed the problem for now. It is a problem in
        the
        Binaries of Firefox 3

<snip>

Can you provide a link to a page where you encounter this problem (or
how to get to it)?

Anyone out there in the Ubuntu Users Community know about this
        stuff,
I'm sort of baffled, by it. Not sure what to make of it, and
        don't feel
real secure with all this "Electronic Security!"

        Thank you in advance

        Alfred!
