Lost menus

Good tips, guys. I'll try creating a new user. But I discovered yesterday
that Kubuntu and Xubuntu are missing menus, too, so I suspect the system is
gibbled.

I'm going to check my sources.list and make sure I'm just using Ubuntu
sources regularly, not Debian ones.

Don't worry about Nostradamus. He's resuscitated every year and
reinterpreted to suit the current situation. So far I haven't seen any of
his prophecies come true. It's almost as bad as trying to plug today into
the Book of Revelation
