Its not like said and done. How much Windows Vista will cost in Bangladesh?
over 20K+, Where many have problems buying a PC with a decent configuration,
whose going to spend 20K+ for the OS?
Yes, alternatively They can use Linux, but Linux was and is not that popular
(yet) in Bangladesh. Many even don't know what Linux is!! This is a sad
fact.
I know reality bites but If there were no Pirated softwares our IT industry
would not have grown this fast. Think of it, you'll understand, This so
called dishonest persons actually helped our IT industry to grow.
For example, Adobe Photoshop is a very costly application, tell me about one
designing firm that would be able to buy that application 5-6 years ago... ?
we have a very florish 3D animation industry, Could they afford to spend
$3000 - $5000 to buying Maya, or 3D Studio Max at start?
No, I do not support Piracy, I only use Windows XP in VM to use my crap
Lexmark Printer and for everything else I use Linux and Open source
alternatives. and I cannot ignore the fact that Pirated software played a
big role in our country's IT industry, maybe not good in the long run, but
it did give the required push
