Sorry, I'm not aware of anyone providing updated Edgy kernels.  With
Feisty to be released in 11 days it's probably worth waiting for that,
or trying out the beta.

Your wireless card (Intel 3945ABG) should work out-of-the-box with
Ubuntu 6.06LTS onwards per:

That Gentoo wiki page mentions the Linuxant HSF driver for your modem.
