Problem with graphic card.

Hello Ubuntus!

I "fried" graphic card in my computer and now I have a new one.
Now I can't run my Ubuntu.
The only thing I can do is to use the command-prompt.
I guess it is called "bash".

Is there a way to restore my Ubuntu without re-installing?
I have already some work saved in Ubuntu.

The new graphic card is salvaged from scrap.
The demo-Ubuntu-disc works fine so I guess the card is compatible.

Pleas, help.

Cheers,
Robert
