Que versión instalaste? La 32 o 64 bit? Intentaste a descargar de vuelta 
la ISO (por si hubo un error en la descara)?
Es un Intel Athom:

Intenta con Xubuntu a 32 bit, es mucho mas liviano, y (IMHO) tu 
procesador no es demasiado potente para Unity/Gnome3..
