broblem seeing shared folders from a windows machine

Hi, does anyone know which file I have to edit to make shared folders browsable from a windows machine. I don't see any of my folders on the ubuntu computer from a windows machine.
I had this problem in feisty, and I think someone new of a file that had the shared folders and switches listed at the end of it. I thought I still had that message saved, but I guess not.
I would appreciate any help with this.
