Right, so:

 * This is not worth a pointless argument taking up everyone's mental
   bandwidth on sounder

 * This is the kind of suggestion that should be sent to the mailing list
   administrator, not the list

 * Your comment is unnecessary, quite rude and on the verge of argumentative
   given the importance of the issue

 * I'll happily change the default list footer to improve it, suggestions
   welcome (but lengthy argument on the list is not)

Let's let this thread die, please. We have far more interesting things to
chat and laugh about.
