Testing report: Did the 14.04 upgrade . . . how do I fix it?

Fritz:

I was not able to fix the problem. Someone (Nio?) had an idea that
works on later Intel graphics card, but it did not work on this one.

I am able to use the machine for testing MIDI music (its main purpose),
so I still use 14.04 on it.

I am fairly certain I would not be able to view youtube videos on it,
but I don't need to. Also, photos look better on it (desktop wallpaper)
than the gradual color-gradients (such as in the default Lubuntu
welcome-screen).
