Thunderbird makes inaccurate notifications

Lars:

I use Thunderbird all the time, but haven't noticed that problem.

Admittedly, I see the notifications, but don't look at them closely, 
merely noting that I need to look at my e-mail in the near future.

What you reported could be happening, but I just haven't noticed it.
