Anyone tried Gnome Media Player?

The project was renamed earlier. It was named gnome vlc initially.
It has a gtk+ GUI and a VLC backend.
It's renamed later because it supports other backends (xine, gstremer)
as well and is no longer vlc specific.

Another option is, if people are going to use vlc, they basically
agree with including Qt4 in Lubuntu. If Qt4 is acceptable, then
another nice option is SMPlayer.

For a GUI mplayer frontend, I think SMPlayer does a better job than
gnome mplayer.
The only drawback is that it uses Qt4.
