It crashes on some machines depending on the hardware and the site.  On
a video that does work, right-click on it go to settings and disable
hardware acceleration.

What video chip do you have?  This may be the reason 12.10 stalls, see

I haven't used a CD/DVD for 18 months or more, I only use flash/thumb 
drives.  On machines that can't boot these, I use PLOP 
http://www.plop.at/en/bootmanagers.html I occasionally have to try 
different usb ports to get it to work, but it's not failed be yet.
