Announcement.

My name is Derek Shaw and together with some 30 other members we run the
Southend on Sea Linux User Group.

We have a Venue at the following location for the weekend of 3rd and 4th
October 2009

TAP (Old Water Works)
North Road
Southend on Sea
Essex
SS0 7AB

The venue itself is large in but a single space and we have scope to
utilise other spaces as demand grows.

The majority of us are novices with a spattering of experienced Linux
users. We have access to the following

One or more large spacious rooms
One or more projectors for workshops/tutorials and a dedicated IRC
Projection room specically for workshops
Plenty of chairs but lacking tables at the moment
Internet Access
A pub immediately across the road us
A petrol/diesel human filling station less than 300 yards from us
Ample parking
No set deadline to vacate building or premises on either evenning
We can run ourselves non development tutorials on a variety of subjects

What we would like to offer

Speakers that will give some instruction on how to get started with
Lauchpad and perhaps some focus on how non developers can help Ubuntu.

I will be posting the event on the http://wiki.ubuntu.com/ubuntuglobaljams
When I have a better idea of what we can offer at the event

I think we need some help and especially some speakers for the event,
most of the event details are already sorted out and confirmed, so we
need some or a lot of content really. If you can help please contact

derek at soslug.org

Thanks in advance

Derek Shaw (Southend on Sea Linux User Group)
