Absolutely. It was I you talked to, and for all the reasons mentioned here,
we definitely do not want to replace--or even mimic--any of the existing
Ubuntu resources. The forums and wiki, for example, are great and as much as
is necessary we would like to provide a means of accessing them from our
site. (For example, since the forums are a common destination from the site,
we've added that as a link at the top of every page.) We're definitely
interested in discussing and exploring other ways to "glue it all together".

OpenID is something Elgg (the software the site is using) already supports,
and we're working on adding support on the site in the short-term.
