... and hello everyone, My name is Jorge Castro and I guess I can be
the one called in charge of the Ubuntu Detroit Team ...

We hail from the Detroit Area of Michigan, in the United States, which
is to say that we're tough skinned. We have two very strong LUGs in
our area, MDLUG, and mug.org. I am a board member of mug.org and I am
proud to say that our group has been a strong supporter of the Ubuntu
community.

sabdfl, in his wisdom has always seen the value of the Linux Terminal
Server Project (LTSP), which was developed right here in our group by
Jim McQuillan, Ron Colcernian, and an ever growing group of people
around the world. As such, our LUG is by no means a stranger to Open
Source. Anyone who's ever been at a Linuxworld has more than likely
stopped by the LTSP booth, since it's been there since the very first
Linuxworld. Jim, being our LUG president, has always been a strong
personality in the OSS community, and as his colleague I can say that
things in our area of the world are "thumbs up".

We have a strong Ubuntu community here in the midwest United States,
which is showcased by two shows, Penguicon (http://www.penguicon.org)
and the OhioLinuxfest (http://www.ohiolinux.org/) ... like the rest of
you, I'm pumped up that Ubuntu is growing stronger and that we're all
doing awesome things to make them better in our respective parts of
the world.

PS - I am especially happy to see nixternal talk about the Chicago
team. I have a friend in Chicago who has been /aching/ to see
ubuntu-chicago prosper ... I look forward to working with you guys in
the future.
