Hi,

in case this is off topic, feel free to inform me of a suitable
alternate mailing list.

I've tried in vain to get a TechnoTrend TT-connect CT2-4650 CI (V1.1)
USB DVB-T2 receiver up and running on my 64 bit Kubuntu 16.04.2
(upgraded from 16.04.1).

As there native support seems to be missing in 4.4 kernels, I have
followed the instructions on
https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TechnoTrend_TT-connect_CT2-4650_CI
and installed both https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Media_build
and the firmware /lib/firmware/dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw

Yet, the only reports (after reboot and connecting the DVB-T2
receiver) in syslog are:

Feb 16 21:14:28 helios kernel: [ 6854.912021] usb 2-4.3: new
high-speed USB device number 11 using ehci-pci

Feb 16 21:14:28 helios mtp-probe[4735]: bus: 2, device: 11 was not an MTP device

In particular, there is no mention of "dvb_usb_v2" or similar as in
the log on https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TechnoTrend_TT-connect_CT2-4650_CI

Furthermore, the Kubuntu system settings do not offer additional drivers.

Am I missing something?

Ingolf
