Bug? with 10.11 Plasma/Plasmoids

I am curious to understand why Network Manager seems to cause so much 
trouble. It has always worked fine for me. So long as I remember to keep 
/etc/network/interfaces clear of everything except the lines dealing 
with "lo," NM has cooperated with my configurations that use full DHCP, 
IP-only DHCP, and static addresses.
